India's Covid-19 tally crosses 3.4 lakh, improvement in recoveries

New Delhi: Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic tally of the country surged to 3,43,091 on Tuesday, after recording 10,667 fresh infections  during the past one day.
However, the number of contagion  survivors in India continued to show further improvement.
As per the government data, cured and discharged cases have increased to 1,80,013, and are now at 26,835 which is more than the active cases presently stand at 1,53,178.
 
A total of 10,216 patients have reportedly recovered since Monday, the government data revealed.Meanwhile, fatalities across the nation have witnessed a sharp spike in the past 24 hours with 380 more people losing their lives to the lethal virus, taking the death toll across the nation to 9,900, nearing 10k mark.
 
On Monday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited LNJP Hospital in Delhi and held comprehensive discussion with the doctors and officials on the COVID-19 situation. He also reviewed hospital's preparedness.
 
Later in a tweet expressing gratitude to the frontline Covid-19 warriors across the nation, Mr Shah said, ''I thank and salute all Corona warriors who are serving the country round the clock in these difficult times.'' (UNI)
