Srinagar: Asserting that militants have misused mosques for attacks, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir, Vijay Kumar on Monday said that general public, civil societies, Masjid committees and media should condemn such acts.
“Militants have misused mosques for terror attacks ie, Pampore on 19/6/20, Sopore on 1/7/20 & Shopian on 9/4/21. General public, Masjid Intizamia , Civil Societies & Media should condemn such acts,” Mr Kumar said on the official twitter handle of Kashmir Police Zone.

The IGP Kashmir once again makes a fervent appeal to all misguided youth who have joined militant ranks to shun the path of violence and return to mainstream as the society needs them and most importantly their parents.

Mr Kumar said parents should make continuous appeal to newly recruited militants to return. “Appeals should be made regularly. Parents shouldn't confine themselves to the last appeal when their children are trapped in an encounter,” he added.
