PM Modi conferred Egypt's highest civilian honour, holds talks with President Sisi

New Delhi/Cairo: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Sunday conferred Egypt’s highest civilian honour, the ‘Order of the Nile’, by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The two leaders also held bilateral talks following which three MoUs were inked in Agriculture, Archaeology and Antiquities and Competition Law.
 
MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi in tweets said:
 
“A mark of abiding friendship between India & Egypt!
“PM @narendramodi was conferred with the highest civilian honour of Egypt, the 'Order of the Nile', by President @AlsisiOfficial in Cairo on 25 June 2023.”


 
He said the two leaders held talks on deepening the cooperation in trade and investment, defence and security, renewable energy, cultural and people to people ties.

@AlsisiOfficial in Cairo on 25 June 2023“The leaders discussed ways to further deepen the partnership between the two countries, including in trade & investment, defence & security, renewable energy, cultural and people to people ties.
“An agreement to elevate the bilateral relationship to a "Strategic Partnership" was signed by the leaders.
