A month after Tandav controversy was doused, Amazon Prime Video apologized officially

As soon as the series was released on the digital platform, the controversy created the storm that the makers of ‘Tandav’ have deliberately tried to mock Hindu Gods and disrespected Hindu sentiments. It also allegedly presented a derogatory and indecent depiction of the Prime Minister of India. Scenes that offend women have also been prominently featured on the web series.


In the specific scene actor, Md Zeeshan Ayyub is essaying the role of Lord Shiva who is jealous of an increasing number of followers of Lord RamThe co-actor who plays Narayana asks him to change his social media strategy. Also advises him to tweet and term the campus students as anti-national. Due to this specific scene there was a demand to ban the series with hashtag #BanTandav on twitter.
After the ministry of I&B intervened in the matter the director of the series Ali Abbas Zafar also issued an unconditional apology. He stated that there was no intention to hurt sentiments of people hailing from any caste, creed or religion. The web series Tandav is merely a work of fiction.Now Amazaon prime video has issued an official apologetic statement on the entire row after a month.

and beliefs of our audiences.
