Speaking to UNI, Sivamani, who is also know as Drums Sivamani, said,''First you have to know basic fundamentals of drums, tabla or zambe, whatever and practice that. You have to practice, practice and practice. That will take you to limelight.''
On role of classical music, he said if one learns it he or she can rock anywhere in the world, playing with any music.
''If you learn classical music like Carnatic rhythm you can rock anywhere in the world, playing with any music,'' the musician, who was conferred upon with "Padma Shri" by the Government of India last year, said.
Sivamani, who has played for A R Rahman's some of the most popular scores such as 'Mustafa?Mustafa,' of Kadhal Desam, 'Humma..Humma' of Bombay and 'Chaiya?Chaiya' of Uyire, said he was working on a feature film, his debut one.
''I am making music debut for the first Hindi film titled Atkan Jhatkan. Its going to be released soon. Its about percussion,'' he said.The musician who was a prominent team member of Bollywood-themed musical " Bombay Dreams, said the makers of the new film had chosen him as it was about percussion.
