Mumbai: He may be an icon to millions in the country but superstar Amitabh Bachchan today said he is himself in awe of the new crop of actors in the film industry. "I am so in awe of this generation. They know who they are, where they want to go. I still don't know where they want to go," the megastar said at the HT leadership summit here. "They are all brilliant and I am not being diplomatic.

Every new artiste, I see is so accomplished and faultless. It's marvelous to see the kind of talent they have. "I think that the current generation is very knowledgeable,’’ he said. On experience of working with the modern generation of Bollywood actors, Amitabh said, "I do feel awkward when the average age on the sets is 25 and I am 74.’’ Replying to a question on why he was not seen to take a stand on various relevant issues, the actor said, "If I can do something for the country socially, I will do that but sometimes taking a stand is difficult. "Some artistes can take really strong stands.

I admire them but I do not have that kind of strength." On appreciation that came his way for his performance as a lawyer in Shoojit Sircar’s ‘Pink’, the 'Shahanshah' said ‘Pink’ was a film very close to his heart. "Every dialogue I spoke in the film, I would speak even if I wasn't working in the film." (UNI)
