In a twist in the Aryan Khan drug racket case, an independent witness has claimed that NCB witness KP Gosavi had demanded a bribe of Rs 25 crore on behalf of NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede for the release of Shah Rukh Khan's son. However, the NCB has refuted all the allegations.
These revelations were made in a notarised affidavit by Prabhakar Sail, who claimed to be the former bodyguard of KP Gosavi, allegedly the ‘private investigator’ whose selfie with Aryan Khan, went viral after his arrest in cruise drug bust on October 2.
In the affidavit, Sail claimed that Wankhede had instructed a member of his staff “to take his signature on 10 blank papers” on the intervening night of October 3-4, a day after the cruise drug bust.
Sail said that after this, he allegedly overheard Mr. Gosavi speaking with one Sam D’Souza and tell the latter: “You put a ‘bomb’ of ?25 crore, let’s settle for ?18 crore and give ?8 crore to Sameer Wankhede.”
Mr. Sail’s video in which he recounted his revelations made in the affidavit also went viral on Sunday.
Later, the NCB issued a statement saying that zonal director Sameer Wankhede has denied the allegations made by Prabhakar Sail.
In its statement, the NCB said, "As he is a witness in the case and the case is before the court and sub-judice, he needs to submit his prayer to the court rather than through social media if he has anything to say."
The witness' affidavit will be forwarded to the director general of the NCB for "further necessary action", the statement said.
