Bollywood mourn demise of Queen Elizabeth ll

New Delhi: Bollywood celebrities are paying rich tributes to Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away at the age of 96.

As monarch for seven decades, the British Queen lived through times of extraordinary change, and this was reflected in several tributes, the BBC said.

The UK's longest-serving monarch, died at Balmoral in Scotland, Buckingham Palace announced on Thursday night. "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon," Official account of the Royal Family said.

Sushmita took to her Instagram handle minutes after the news broke and condoled the demise of the Queen.

The former Miss Universe wrote, “What an incredible & truly celebrated life!!! She loved colors & lived every shade of it, in a single lifetime….The very embodiment of QUEEN!!! Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth Il #BritainsLongestReigningMonarch #GodSpeed #duggadugga”.

Rakul Preet Singh and Bipasha Basu wrote, “Rest in Peace”.

The Queen ascended the throne in 1952. In 2015, she became the UK's longest-serving monarch, surpassing the record of Queen Victoria, who had ruled between 1837 and 1901. Her husband Prince Philip had died in April 2021 at the age 99. (UNI)
