The troubled marriage of cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma has once again become a topic of public discussion. In the reality show Rise and Fall, Dhanashree claimed she discovered her then-husband's infidelity just two months after their wedding.
In a conversation with actor Kubbra Sait, Dhanashree opened up about her failed marriage. Kubbra asked her when she realized things wouldn't work with Chahal. To this, Dhanashree responded, "First year. Caught him in the second month." Her revelation left Kubbra visibly shocked, who exclaimed, "Crazy, bro." This clip is going viral on the social media.

This isn't the first time Dhanashree has addressed her separation. Earlier on the same show, she denied rumors about alimony, telling Aditya Narayan, "Officially, it has been almost a year. It happened quickly because it was mutual. That's why when people say alimony, it's wrong. Just because I am not saying anything, you will go on saying anything? My parents taught me to only justify to people I care about. Why waste time explaining to strangers?"
Timeline of Their Marriage and Divorce
Dhanashree and Chahal got married in December 2020 in Gurugram after meeting during the Covid-19 pandemic, when Chahal had approached her for dance lessons. The couple separated in June 2022. On February 5, 2025, they filed a joint petition seeking divorce by mutual consent. Their divorce was finalized in March.
Dhanashree previously spoke about the emotional toll of the divorce in a Humans of Bombay podcast. Recalling the court hearing, she said, “I still remember when I was standing there and the verdict was about to be given. Even though we were so well-prepared mentally, I got so emotional. I started howling in front of everybody. I couldn't even express what I was feeling at that point. I just remember that I just kept crying, I was just howling and crying. Of course! All of that happened, and he (Chahal) walked out first.”
Her latest revelation about catching Chahal cheating early in the marriage has added a new layer to the couple's highly publicized separation.
