Celebs celebrate Chandrayaan-3 success

Mumbai: Erupting in joy, Bollywood saluted the nation’s scientists after India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission successfully touched down on the moon.

From evergreen veteran Amitabh Bachchan to superstar Shah Rukh Khan and the versatile Riteish Deshmukh, celebrities responded in various celebratory styles as India made history becoming the fourth nation to soft-land on the moon after the US, China, and erstwhile USSR.

Deshmukh posted a picture of himself wearing an ISRO t-shirt on X to show off his joy and enthusiasm. “It’s Chandrayaan3Landing Day at 6.04 PM,” he wrote.

Aaj ghar ke mandir mein Chandrayaan-3 ki safalta ke liye prarthana ki, (I prayed for the success of Chandrayaan-3 before the god in my house),” Anupam Kher said alongside a video he posted on Instagram.

Kher said he had offered puja for the success of the mission, and said the sicere efforts of the ISRO scientists have borne fruit.

Sunny Deol, whose patriotic film Gadar 2 is raking in huge profits and drawing people in hordes to the theatres, called it “a momentous feat in the history of India's space exploration”.

He posted: “What a proud moment. Hindustan zindabad tha, hai or rahega Congratulations to ISRO on the successful soft landing of #Chandrayaan3 on the moon. A momentous feat in the history of India's space exploration. Proud!!!”

Bachchan said with this achievement, India has now become a first world country. “For far too long when India was referred to, it was spoken of as 3rd World Country .. and I hated it .. TODAY I AM PROUD TO SAY , INDIA IS 1ST WORLD .. in more ways than one,” he wrote on X.
