New Delhi: In a groundbreaking celebration marking the first anniversary of Disney+ Hotstar's hit series "Saas Bahu aur Flamingo," director Homi Adajania reflects on the whirlwind journey of introducing audiences to a world like never before.
From its inception, "Saas Bahu aur Flamingo" shattered stereotypes and redefined the narrative landscape with its portrayal of fierce women challenging patriarchal norms. Led by the legendary Dimple Kapadia in a formidable role, alongside a dynamic ensemble including Radhikka Madan, Angira Dhar, Isha Talwar, and Deepak Dobriyal, the series captivated viewers with its gripping storyline set in the dangerous world of flamingos.
Director Homi Adajania shared his sentiments on the show's success, stating, "It's been a year! Wow! I love the idea of presenting strong women whose existence holds the promise of chaos against the very system that has oppressed them." Adajania lauded Kapadia's portrayal of matriarch Savitri as her best work to date, attributing the success to the stellar performances of the entire cast and crew.
Reflecting on the overwhelming response, Adajania expressed gratitude for the unexpected acclaim, acknowledging the show's innovative approach. "When released, the way the show blew up was unexpected because we knew that we had created a world no one had seen before, so the reaction was unpredictable," he stated, emphasising the anticipation for the next season.
