EC stops Sonu Sood from visiting poll booths in Moga, sent him home; Twitterati share funny memes, jokes on social media

The Election Commission of India (ECI) stopped Bollywood actor Sonu Sood from visiting the polling booths in Moga and sent him home. His sister Malvika Sood is contesting election on a Congress ticket from Moga. 

Sonu Sood has been accused of trying to influence the voters. ECI impounded Sonu Sood's car to stop him from going to various boots after a complaint was lodged by Shiromani Akali Dal. He has been instructed him to stay inside house, news agency ANI reported.

Sonu Sood was trying to enter a polling booth. During this, his car was confiscated and he was sent home. Action will be taken against him if he steps out of his house: Moga District PRO Pradbhdeep Singh

Moga District PRO Pradbhdeep Singh said, “Action will be taken against him if he steps out of his house”.

Soon after this news came out, Sonu Sood started trending on social media. Twitterati started sharing funny memes, jokes and pictures saying “all this time Sonu Sood was sending people home, but now he himself got sent home”

Talking about the incident the actor said, "We got to know of threat calls at various booths by opposition, especially the people of Akali Dal. Money being distributed at some booths. So it's our duty to go check & ensure fair elections. That's why we had gone out. Now, we're at home. There should be fair polls"
