Ekta Kapoor, John Abraham to Prem Chopra: Bollywood celebs in COVID queue

Mumbai: Just like when the pandemic broke out in India in 2020 and one after the other the super rich of Bollywood tested positive, come 2021 and with the Omicron raising its head, many celebrities from the cinema and TV fraternity have once again tested positive.
Filmmaker Ekta Kapoor, actor John Abraham and his wife Priya, veteran actor Prem Chopra and his wife Uma Chopra are the recent addition to the long list of celebrities who have tested positive.
Ekta and John shared their Covid status on Instagram.
Ekta: Despite taking all precautions, I have tested Covid positive. I am fine, and I request everyone who has come in contact with me to please test themselves.
John: I came in contact three days ago with someone who I later learnt had Covid. Priya and I have tested positive for Covid. We have been quarantined at home, so haven’t been in contact with anyone else.We both are vaccinated and experiencing mild symptoms.
The first among the Covid positive celebrities this season was "Poo" Kareena Kapoor and her BFF Amrita Arora, who had tested positive three weeks back and were home quarantined.
Kareena in quarantine used to share pictures of her sons Taimur and Jeh. Taimur missed his mom on his birthday on December 20.
She wrote in her Instagram stories, "Covid, I hate you…I miss my babies (heartbroken emoji), but…soon…will do this (with muscle emojis).
Kareena also posted a picture of Saif Ali Khan from the balcony of her quarantined room.
Saif was seen standing on the terrace of the building across the street, drinking from a cup. “Ok, so we are still…in love in the times of the Corona era. Don’t forget, guys!!! It’s lurking,” she wrote.
After testing negative, the BFF duo did a reunion at Karisma Kapoor’s residence, where Malaika Arora and her beau Arjun Kapoor were also spotted.
Later Arjun Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Arjun Boolani, Mohit Marwah and Antara Motiwala tested positive after dinner at Arjun’s residence.
The Kapoor family posted a story on Instagram individually and informed about their health and mild symptoms.
The "Fabulous lives of Bollywood Wives" fame Seema Khan and Maheep Kapoor tested positive for Covid-19 after attending a dinner hosted by director-producer Karan Johar around three weeks back.
Afterwards, Shanaya Kapoor, Maheep’s daughter, also got infected.
Nora Fatehi, promoting her latest dance video, “Dance Meri Rani,” posted a story on Instagram on December 30 about her Covid-19 infection. The actor reportedly had a difficult time recovering. The dancing sensation also requested her fans to wear a mask whenever needed.
Mrunal Thakur of "Toofan" fame tested Covid positive on January 1. The actor was promoting her upcoming film, "Jersey", which was scheduled to be released on January 31, but now is postponed keeping the current Covid situation in mind.
TV actors Nakuul Mehta of "Bade Acche Lagte 2" and Khatron Ki Khiladi Season 11 winner Arjun Bijlani also tested positive. (UNI)
