'Fan' and 'Sultan' to screen at the Busan film festival

Mumbai: After enthralling audiences in India, Yash Raj Films' 'Fan' and blockbuster 'Sultan' will be screened at the Busan International Film Festival, considered the Cannes of Asia, officials at YRF said today.
Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Fan' and Salman Khan-Anushka Sharma mega blockbuster 'Sultan' will be screened at the Busan film festival, considered Asia's premier film festival and often called the Cannes of Asia.The festival will also serve to kick start the campaign for the theatrical release of both films in South Korea.
Officials at Yashraj said the release of the two films in South Korea is in line with the commitment by YRF of taking the best of Indian cinema to international non-traditional markets.
Directed by Maneesh Sharma, ‘Fan’ will be screened in the ‘A Window on Asian Cinema’ section in the Busan film festival, one that is vied for by many Asian filmmakers.
The officials said the screening highlights, recognition for the film’s unique content."At Asia’s largest film festival, where 300 films will be screened from 29 countries this year, Fan has a special marquee screening position,’’ they said.Director Ali Abbas Zafar’s record-breaking blockbuster 'Sultan' will be screened at the popular ‘Open Cinema’ section at Busan, which contains a lineup of Asian films that draws maximum audiences.
They said with memorable performances from Salman, Anushka and its ensemble cast, cinema experts at the festival will keenly watch ‘Sultan’.(UNI)
