With a nearly six-decade legacy of transforming lives of young talented women who have become icons in the glamour and fashion industry, VLCC Femina Miss India 2020 co-powered by Sephora & Roposo, vows to continue its tradition of creating icons with an aim to extend whole-hearted support to the new generation women who have the potential to lead and represent the country in the future, this time, online.
In the wake of the Covid -19 pandemic, Miss India Organization translates its scouting operations into the digital media space, in pursuit of beauty ambassadors. Powered by a dynamic new format, VLCC Femina Miss India 2020 is anchored by an underlining vision to empower the youth and represent the best of Indians talents at International platforms.
The pageant in its virtual format for the first time ever, has launched a nationwide hunt effective 5th October 2020 to select representatives each from the 28 states and a representative from Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir besides a collective representative from the Union Territories making for a total of 31 finalists. The selection process of these finalists will entail an online registration process inviting specific audition task submission on the Roposo App. An internal screening process, which will include experts and panelists, will select the 31 finalists.
These shortlisted finalists will undergo rigorous training and grooming and will be mentored by none other than the former beauty queen and actress Neha Dhupia. Subsequently the girls will be further shortlisted and will arrive in Mumbai to compete for the coveted crown at the Grand Finale in the month of February 2021.
Talking about the pageant with pride and passion, Neha Dhupia said, “Each year as the journey of Femina Miss India begins, it brings back all the memories of the priceless experiences I’ve had with this pageant. It’s almost like re-living every moment of my journey with these young glamorous girls who are so full of enthusiasm and capability to take on the world with power and elegance. Certainly, there are challenges with the digital process in the wake of the pandemic, however I’m confident it will be as exciting and worthwhile irrespective of the layout.”
The annual pageant has roped in the leading Wellness & Beauty brand, VLCC, as its lead sponsor for the 2020 edition. The winner of VLCC Femina Miss India 2020 co-powered by Sephora & Roposo, will represent India at the Miss World pageant. The runner up too will stand a chance to represent the country at International Pageant - Miss Grand International. Winning the title of Miss India will not only catapult you to fame, but also give you a chance to live in the Maximum City — Mumbai — known to be the hub of entertainment and glamour, with all expenses taken care of.

For this year, the height criterion has been eased lowering the limit from 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 3 inches.
The participation criteria for any applicant includes:
Height - 5’3” and above
Age - 18 – 25 (25 as per 31st Dec 2020)
Age 26 & 27 are eligible for the runner up position only
OCI card holders are also eligible for runner up positions
Continuing the legacy that saw Six Miss Worlds who made us proud by marking their presence on the globe- Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999), Priyanka Chopra (2000) and Manushi Chhillar (2017), the hunt for the new crown bearer has begun.
Interestingly, this year, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Dia Mirza complete 20 years of winning their Miss India titles.
