After conducting a successful identification parade, Mumbai police sources on Friday said some fingerprint samples collected from the residence of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was attacked on January 16, have matched those of the accused arrested Bangladeshi national Shariful Islam.
The sources said some fingerprints have been confirmed by the initial report, and the final report is awaited.The police said several samples were collected from the actor's house and sent for testing. While reports for some samples have been received, others are pending.
It may be recalled that on Wednesday two domestic helps, who were the eyewitnesses to the attack, identified the accused during an identification parade at the Arthur road jail where he has been lodged. (UNI)
