First weekend collections of 'Baadshaho' and SMS

New Delhi: Riding on the slick and stylish action and good performances by Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi, Milan Luthria's 'Baadshaho' has earned Rs 43.3-cr in its opening weekend, trade sources said. The film, which opened to mixed reviews from critics, earned Rs 43.3-cr in its opening weekend.

In doing so, it has become the fifth highest grosser featuring Emraan Hashmi. The film, which also featured Esha Gupta, Sanjay Mishra and Vidyut Jamwal in key roles, has already crossed the total collections of Emraan Hashmi films like 'Jannat 2' (42-crore), 'Azhar' (Rs 33-crore) and 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' (37.50-crore).

In terms of its earnings, 'Baadshaho' is only behind 'The Dirty picture' (Rs 85-cr), 'Raaz 3' (Rs 70-cr) , 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai' ( Rs 59-cr) and 'Murder 2' (Rs 46-cr) . The other release of the week 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan' earned Rs 14-cr in its opening weekend. Directed by Milan Luthria, 'Baadhaho', shot in the backdrop of the emergency period, features Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi and Illeana D Cruz in lead roles. The film has evoked praise for its action sequences and performances by Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi. (UNI)
