New York: Punjabi film superstar and singer Diljit Dosanjh made a resplendent debut at the 2025 Met Gala, donning attire and ornaments inspired by opulence of Punjabi royalty.
As Dosanjh stepped on the Met Gala carpet, an elated crowd greeted him with spirited cries of "Punjabi aa gaye oye". Dosanjh walked the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in a traditional yet contemporary silhouette featuring a turban, kurta and tehmat accentuated by with heritage jewellery and an ornamental sword, designed by Prabal Gurung, giving an appearance of modern-day Maharaja.
A standout element of the look was the vintage jewellery, inspired by the historic Cartier collection of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala, symbolising a rich legacy of grandeur. He proudly displayed his Punjabi culture on the global stage.
