Irrfan Khan visits Kolkata to promote his upcoming flick ‘Hindi Medium’

Kolkata: Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan today visited in the city to promote his upcoming film ‘Hindi Medium’ The film ‘Hindi Medium’ is a heartwarming, light-hearted romantic film about a young couple in Chandni Chowk in Delhi, who aspire to move into society's upper crust.

Directed by Saket Chaudhary and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Bhushan Kumar the film will have Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar in the lead roles, It is a slice of life film where in Irrfan plays a Punjabi businessman from Chandni Chowk and Saba his wife.

They're a Hindi speaking couple who do their best to get their child admitted in an English speaking school.Actor Irrfan Khan termed as "debatable" the reported decision of the censor board asking the makers of his forthcoming film "Hindi Medium" to issue a disclaimer stating it is a work of fiction."Well, the film is inspired by a real life incident.

It should say inspired by or based on real life incidents.It is a debatable thing and one should debate upon it," the actor told the mediapersons here.The makers of Hindi Medium producers Dinesh Vijan and Bhushan Kumar are confident the film is a good one so; they want to ensure that the word of the film reaches everyone & gets enough publicity.

Dinesh Vijan says, “We are confident about how the film has shaped up & sure that the audience will love it too since it has the potential.” Bhushan Kumar says, “The whole team has seen the film & we are very excited about the same.We are very happy &proud of the final product &feel that this film deserves to be promoted more so that it can reach out to more people.I am positive that everybody in the country can relate to it.” The topic of the film is something so relatable that the Indian audiences will surely feel like they’re a part of the film.

Irrfan and Saba play Raj and Mita who do everything in their power to ensure their daughter receives the best education.Set in the backdrop of the nursery school admissions, Hindi Medium is the story of every single parent in the country who wants to give their child the best education possible.

Raj and Mita, a well to do couple have a 3 year old daughter.They as parents want to give the best life to her and would go to any length to achieve that.As the story unfolds we realize that getting their daughters admission is actually a struggle for them as a couple to be accepted in the certain section of the society.

The story deals with the tries and turbulations of this family which tries to break the air tight compartments of our society, where to rise from middle to upper middle or upper to elite class are all dependant on which school do their children go to! How this family realizes their mistake while trying to get their daughters admission is something which keeps us intrigued as an audience.

It’s truly a slice of life comedy based in the heartland of our country.Irrfan starrer ‘Hindi Medium’ has several impressive soundtracks.The music of the film is composed by Sachin-Jigar while lyrics have been penned by Priya Saraiya and Kumaar.Irrfan has never really featured in a romantic song before but ‘HOOR’ shows the journey of a couple in love sung by Atif Aslam.The film ‘Hindi Medium’ is all set to release on May 19.(UNI)
