Kangana Ranaut wins National film award for 'Panga' & 'Manikarnika'

New Delhi: Hindi cinema actress Kangana Ranaut was announced as the winner of the 67th National Film Award for the best actress for her roles in Hindi language movies "Manikarnika" and "Panga", Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said here on Monday.

 
Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput starrer "Chhichhore" was awarded as the best Hindi feature film at an event organised by the Directorate of Film Festivals.
 
Hindi cinema actor Manoj Bajpayee and Tamilian actor Dhanush shared the most prestigious award of India for cinema for their roles in "Bhonsle" and "Asuran", respectively.
 
Best feature film award went to Malayalam film "Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham", directed by Priyadarshan. The best director award was won by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan for Hindi film "Bahattar Hoorain".
 
Marathi film "Anandi Gopal" was selected as the best film on social issues. The Indira Gandhi award was given to Malayalam film "Helen" by Mathukutty Xavier.
 
The Nargis Dutt award for National Integration went to"Taj Mahal" while the best popular providing wholesome entertainment was given to the Telugu film "Maharshi".
 
The National Film Awards, considered as the most prominent, are given annually by the Government of India. The recipients are selected by a government-appointed panel and the awards are handed by the President.(UNI)
