Lucknow: Producer of the film 'Kannappa' Dr M Mohan Babu, actors Vishnu Manchu, Prabhu Deva and executive producer Vinay Maheshwari paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his official residence on Wednesday.

An attractive poster of Kannappa was unveiled on the occasion. The film will be released worldwide on June 27. The CM was also given a glimpse of the film making.

Yogi appreciated the efforts of the team and emphasised the importance of telling stories rooted in Indian mythology, culture and devotion. The Kannappa team invited Yogi to visit Tirupati and watch the film when it was ready.

Speaking about the meeting, Vishnu Manchu said, “It was an immense honour for all of us to meet CM Yogi Adityanath. As someone who has devoted a decade of his life to Kannappa, it was incredibly moving to see him connect with the soul of our film. He understood that Kannappa is not just a story but a cultural revival. He called for more such films to be made and seen, which reaffirm the spiritual and cultural power of Kannappa. His words remind us that our mythology, our history, our heroes must find their voice on the big screen and be passed on to generations."

Kannappa, releasing on June 27, is a historical epic that tells the story of a great devotee of Lord Shiva. Vishnu Manchu plays Kannappa, along with Preeti Mukhundhan, Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Prabhas and Kajal Aggarwal.

It may be noted that the team of Kannappa had earlier met spiritual guru Dheerendra Krishna Shastri (Bageshwar Baba) on Tuesday. During the meeting, Bageshwar Baba gave his blessings to the team of Kannappa including Vishnu Manchu, director Mukesh Kumar Singh and the villain of the film Arpit Ranka.

He spoke at length about the greatness of Bhakta Kannappa and watched the glimpses of the film, and appreciated its vision. He praised the effort to bring out Indian culture and ancient stories through cinema, and said that such films must be made and reach the masses.
