Kolkata: In the lockdown, not only in Kolkata but in different parts of the world, families have been separated.
Their lives are sailing in utter loneliness. Director Premendu Bikash Chaki has made a film on that very mental crisis. Rituparna Sengupta and singer Raghab Chatterjee have reached out to help her.
Even Rituparna’s daughter and Raghab’s son also got involved with the film named ‘Laptop’. It’s a 25-minute lockdown film.
The film has been selected and screened under ‘Short and Documentary Panorama’ section of 26th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF).
Director Premendu said, “We had shot the film entirely on mobile phones without the help of current technologies. Of course, this is happening all over the world now.”
Team ‘Laptop’ mentioned that the arrangements will be made to bring the film on any OTT platform. Rituparna said, “I think a new way has come for aspiring directors to make films. Mobile phone is no longer just a phone, it is now a tool for film making too.” (UNI)
