NCB files chargesheet in Sushant drug case; Rhea Chakraborty, 32 others named

Mumbai: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Friday filed 12K-plus pages charge sheet against 33 people, including film actress Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik and others in the Bollywood-drugs mafia case arising out of the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
The charge-sheet, was filed before a Mumbai Special Court, after two cases were registered by the NCB after an intimation from the Enforcement Directorate which was probing the financial angle in Sushant’s death on June 14 last year.
An NCB team reached the Special NDPS Court here on Friday to file the charge sheet and other papers before a Special Judge.
According to senior NCB sources related with the probe, the drug law enforcement agency has filed the first charge sheet which is running in over 12,000 pages in the case against 33 accused till date.
Besides Rhea, who was Sushant’s girlfriend, her brother Showik, the NCB sources said the late actor’s ex-manager Samuel Miranda, his house help Dipesh Sawant, drug peddler Anuj Keshwani, from whom commercial quantity of drugs (LSD sheets and marijuana) were first recovered, figure in the charge-sheet.
There are two foreign nationals Agisilaos Demetriades, the brother of actor Arjun Rampal’s South African girlfriend and model Gabriella Demetriades, Kshitij Prasad, a former executive producer connected with Dharma Productions and two college students who are said to be the last mile peddlers, who have been named in the charge sheet.
All of them were chargesheeted under the various section of NDPS Act as well as the IPC.
NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede said that of the 33 people chargesheeted, 25 have been granted bail by the honourable court while the remaining eight are still in judicial custody. Further investigations are on against known-unknown persons and supplementary chargesheet will be filed as per the law in due course. (UNI)
