Mumbai: Actor and TV personality Payal Rohatgi mocked actor Kangana Ranuat for her 'behaviour' during the screening of her film 'Dhaakad' and the low box office collection of the film.
Rohatgi lost reality show ‘Lock Upp’ hosted by Kangana to comedian Munawar Faruqui. Calling the film’s box office collection ‘sad’, Payal Rohatgi commented on how the 'Lock Upp' winner or his fans did not promote the film on the social media platforms and did not even turn up to watch the film at the theatres.
“Dhaakad” was expected to earn over 4-5 crores by the weekend but is heavily struggling managing to earn barely half of its expectations, with its current box office at little over 2 crore INR. Referencing the actresses latest action thriller film “Dhaakad” low earnings on the weekend, the TV star took to Instagram to make comment.
"Karma is a b****h ????? 18 lakh vote ???? ?? ???? ?????? ?? promotion ?? ?? ???? BOTS ?????? ????? ?? (The person who got 18 lakh, they neither promoted the film neither did its BOTS saw the film," she posted on Instagram.
She also added, "Sita MA par film banane waali hai Kangana ji aur usme Sita MA ka mazak udane waale ko shayad role bhi degi kyuki use apni objectivity dikhani hai samaaj ko (Kangana is going to make a film on Goddess Sita and is probably going to hire someone has mocked Her just because she wants to show her objectivity to the society)."
Another factor contributing to the movie’s struggles is that its release date clashed with Kartik Aryan’s “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” which has completely sidelined the film, managing to gross over nearly 56 crore INR over the weekend making the highest grossing Bollywood film of 2022 so far.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Instagram and wrote, "#BhoolBhulaiyaa2 infuses oxygen in the lungs of an ailing industry... A ? 55 cr+ weekend at a time when most #Hindi films are ending up below ? 20 cr lifetime is a MASSIVE ACHIEVEMENT... Fri 14.11 cr, Sat 18.34 cr, Sun 23.51 cr. Total: ? 55.96 cr. #India biz." (UNI)
