Prabhas may play a long inning in Bollywood unlike other south-Indian stars

Since 2015 Prabhas has become a popular face among North Indian cine-goers thanks to the magnum opus Bahubali: the beginning and Bahubali the conclusion. Interestingly, he is more known for his larger than life character Bahubali than Prabhas in the Hindi belt.
After the humongous success of the Rajamouli creation, Prabhas is set to play an undercover cop in Saaho with Shraddha Kapoor as the female counterpart. The movie is set to release on 30th Aug across four languages.

It is going to be a special moment for Prabhas coz if Saaho gets going which is very much on the cards, the Tollywood hunk will make a grand entry in Bollywood.  Earlier many bigwigs of south Indian cinema tried to replicate the same performance in B town but to no avail.

Surprisingly, the biggest name of Tollywood Rajnikanth failed to create an impact when he entered Bollywood. Bhagwan Dada, Andha Kanoon, Phool Bane Angare, Bulandi and many more movies failed the litmus test of the box office. Except for Baasha any other flick, which clicked was due to the presence of multi stars like Amitabh Bachchan and others.

Same goes with his contemporary actor and director Kamal Haasan. In 80’s his acting skills in Sadma,Sagar,Ek Duje ke Liye brought laurel. Movies like Chachi 420 and Hindustani were definitely impressive, but in the early 20’s he lost the plot as his “Hey Ram” “Abhay”. By the time of Vishwaroopam, he became irrelevant.

In Girftaar both Kamal Haasan and Rajni were seen Along with Big-B but the movie went unnoticed.

Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi’s Bollywood outing fared out even worse. Both the actors were rejected initially. They were not given half the chance of what Rajnikanth and Kamal Hasan relished.

Another well-known face of south Indian cinema is Dhanush. Despite having a good start with “Ranjhana” the dusky actor got carried away. His next with Big B “Shamitabh” failed miserably and now he has a tough road ahead in the film industry.

Maghadheera Fame and son of Chiranjeevi Ram Charan had a forgettable debut in Bollywood. The actor was cast opposite Priyanka Chopra in the remake of Bollywood classic Zanjeer. Since then, the actor was not seen again in B-town.

Dulquer Salmaan too had a lukewarm opening on box office with Irrfan Khan starrer “Karwan". His next “Zoya Factor is expected to release soon in which Sonam Kapoor is set to get a major chunk of screen space.

Interestingly, Bhallaldev made Bollywood entry much before Baahubali with “Dum Maro Dum” in which Abhishek Bachchan played the lead role. Rana Daggubati’s next project in Bollywood was “Gazi Attack” the movie failed to gather audience despite good critic reviews.
