Raveena delighted after receiving bamboo water bottles of Tripura

Agartala:Overwhelmed with the receipt of bamboo made water bottles of Tripura Bollywood superstar Raveena Tandon appreciated the green initiative taken by the state government and monetizing forest produce.
Tandon in a tweet said "My order came in! Thank you for this wonderful green rehabilitation initiative taken up by @BjpBiplab. Looking forward to more and more green sustainable initiatives from our politicians."
After a tweet of young Indian Forest Service Officer Parveen Kaswan about the unique bamboo made water bottle, an innovation of Bamboo and Cane Development Institute (BCDI), she ordered the products about three weeks ago. The Chief Minster Biplab Kumar Deb personally responded to the tweet and managed to ship of the consignment, which reached to Tandon yesterday.
Along with the consignment, Deb wrote a letter of appreciation to Raveena Tandon on July 7 last that reads, "My sincere thanks and gratitude to you for promoting and popularizing the artistic bamboo bottles ? a unique product made by the craftsman of state. Your tweet had a great impact as calls and queries keep pouring everyday within the country and abroad."
The letter also mentioned, "I am thankful to you for showing keen interest in having the first consignment, which would definitely add to its brand value and it will motivate the bamboo artisans. Do visit Tripura post this pandemic and explore the unexplored natural beauty of Tripura.
With the effort of Forest Research Centre for Livelihood Extension (FRCLE), the scientists of BCDI here had developed the products two years ago but launched formally by the Chief Minister Deb about six months ago. A large number of local artisans involved in the value addition task under FRCLE was encouraged after BCDI designed the unique bottle after central government put a blanket ban on single-use plastic.
"This is the first hygienic and Leak-proof innovation with a concept, designed and developed by us" said BCDI head here Dr Abhinav Kant adding that to prevent fungal growth, odor, and leakage they have devised a solution by not allowing water to come in contact with bamboo and inserted a barrier of glass, steel, and copper.(UNI)
