New Delhi:A local court here on Tuesday remanded Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty into judicial custody till September 21, while her bail application was rejected by the court for her alleged role in the drugs angle, which has emerged in the investigations into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

While rejecting the bail application, the court agreed with the submission made by the NCB that the investigation in the case is going on and her release on bail may hamper the ongoing investigation.

She was earlier produced in the court via video-conferencing, during which the prosecution NCB did not seek her custody and contended the court that she was interrogated by the investigators and can be remanded into judicial custody.

Following this, the court granted her judicial custody till September 21. Soon after that, the Bollywood actor moved a bail application.

Defence advocate Satishmane Shinde, while arguing the bail plea, contended the court that in the present case, her client is not required by the prosecution, while the two accused arrested in the same case were granted bail by the court, hence she should also be allowed to be released on bail, on the condition deem fit by the court.

While opposing the plea and also in the remand application NCB submitted that though her custody is not required by the investigators, the probe in the case is in progress and her release on bail will hamper the ongoing investigation.
