Mumbai Her passion for music may have taken a backseat all these years due to her preoccupation with acting, but actress Shruti Haasan now wants to return to singing.Talking to UNI here, Shruti, who had established a niche for herself as a singer and music director before making her presence felt in Bollywood as well as the South Indian film industry, said she misses singing and music a lot these days.'Before acting in films, I was full-time into singing and music.
For 365 days in a year, I used to do only singing and music direction. However, then a time came when I had to devote all my time to acting and films.
Doing films is something that takes up lot of your time. So, due to my preoccupation with acting, I am not able to give much time for singing.Infact, I used to do five to seven films at one time which made it extremely difficult for me to devote time to singing although in between I have done some playback singing for films,'Shruti said.
'I miss singing and music a lot which is why I want to be associated with it again.I am trying to strike out a balance between acting and singing /music so that I am able to find time for both,'Shruti said.In this context, she said that her upcoming film 'Behen Hogi Teri' is also associated with music.'In the film, I play Binny, the daughter of the owner of Jagran band .During the shooting, I felt as if I had gone on a music tour,'she said.
Talking about her role in the film, the actress said,'for me the film is very important .There are a lot of similarities between me and Binny.Though she is an ordinary girl, Binny is quite strong while at the same time being quite sensitive just like I am in real life.' Directed by Ajay K Parasjar, 'Behen Hogi Teri' features Shruti in the lead with actor Rajkummar Rao in the lead role.It also features actor Gulshan Grover in a key role.(UNI)
