Thiruvananthapuram: 'Kathakavyangal,' written by poet and film director Sohan Roy, has now been released on online platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart and Notion Press.
The book 'Kathakavyangal' consists of thirty-three stories which were previously published in leading Malayalam newspapers and social media. It is a creative literary experiment that combines stories with poetry.
Here each story is accompanied by four lines of verse to summarize its essence. This writing experiment was named 'Kathakavyam.'
The narrator, Sohan Roy, said "the story revolves around the interesting experiences he encountered at various stages of his growth, from an ordinary entrepreneur to the owner of a multinational consortium."
"Twenty-four years ago, after graduating with an engineering degree in Naval Architecture from the University of Cochin, I started an organization called Aries Marine in Sharjah. Today the company has grown into a multinational group of over sixty companies in seventeen countries."
"This book narrates some humorous and interesting experiences of my life during different stages of my growth. Although the narrative of this book is full of humor, I am sure this book will bring a smile to the reader's face, offer a new perspective, and valuable life lessons to the readers to inspire them."
"The book contains a great idea in the form of a humorous story and a four-line poem. The name 'Kathakavyam' itself explains this idea. To the best of my knowledge, this is probably the first book to claim a novelty. The book is a compilation of thirty-three stories and thirty-three poems, often published in mainstream newspapers."
Dr. Sohan Roy has been sharing four lines of poetry based on current and social issues under the title 'Anukavyam' for the past four years. The book is currently listed in the World Book of Records, UK.
He is the director of the Hollywood film 'Dam 999' and the author of thousands of poems, including Anumahakavyam. Dr. Roy is also a Guinness World Record holder, Member of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Winner of Pravasi Express's Malayalee Ratna Award 2017, National Achievers Award 2016, Saraswati Vidyalaya's Inspiring Icon Award, Acharya Hasti Karuna award for Best Employer, Malayalee Federation Pravasi Award, Gandhi Bhavan Trust's Sathyan National Film Award, Lalithambika Antarjanam Foundation Award and many more.
He is also the first Indian to hold the title of 'Sir' ordained by the Knighthood of Parte Guelph in Italy. (UNI)
