New Delhi: Salman’s conviction by a Jodhpur court in the blackbuck poaching case could spell trouble for Bollywood with hundreds of crores riding on the Superstar, who remains the biggest box office draw in the industry as of today.

Salman Khan was on Thursday held guilty by a Jodhpur court in the blackbuck poaching case. While the court let off others actors in the 1998 case -- Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre -- Salman has been sentenced to two years of jail.
Though a two years sentence means the actor can seek bail from the court, his conviction could spell trouble for a ‘shell shocked’ Bollywood with several biggies like ‘Race 3’, ‘Bharat’, ‘Dabangg 3’, ‘Kick 2’ and others, besides the TV show ‘Dus ka Dum’ and future editions of ‘Bigg Boss’ in the pipeline on the small screen for the superstar.

Trade sources said the conviction of the star is a big loss for Bollywood with Salman being the biggest box office draw in India today, having delivered a series of blockbusters in recent years -- ‘Ek Tha Tiger ‘ and its sequel Tiger Zinda Hai, the Dabangg franchise, ‘Sultan’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘Kick’ and many more.

Given his huige charisma and box office draw, Salman has multiple films in his kitty including Remo D’ Souza’s ‘Race 3’, ‘Bharat’, ‘Dabagg 3’ and ‘Kick 2’.

Trade sources say that these are multiple superhits in the making. In case of Remo D’Souza’s Race 3 -- where Salman is the major draw backed by an ensemble cast of Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Daisy Shah and Saqib Saleem – while most of the shoot has been finished, the film needs to be promoted and advertised. Salman is not only acting in the film, he is also a co-producer. The film’s estimated budget is over Rs 100 crore and it is expected to do massive business at the box office when it comes out this Eid.

Another film that has a lot of stakes for the industry is the multi-starrer ‘Bharat’ featuring Salman in the lead.

The film brings back the Salman Khan-Ali Abbas Zafar combo which has earlier given blockbusters such as Tiger Zinda Hai and Sultan. Official remake of Korean film, Ode to My Father, the film has been mounted on a lavish scale and might mark the return of Priyanka Chopra to Bollywood. The film is in pre-production and the work started on Bharat in February. It is expected to release on Eid 2019.

‘Dsabangg 3’ and ‘Kick 2’ are other films that re in the offing.

Talks have been on about the sequel to these two hits .While no dates have been announced when they begin shooting, they are very much in the offing.

After success of Salman khan as host of ‘Bigg boss 10’, the superstar is returning to the small screen with his popular game show Dus Ka Dum. Sony Entertainment Television channel has already released the promo material and Salman has shot for teasers etc for the show too. This is supposed to be Salman’s answer to KBC.

Salman's conviction has come as a shock for Bollywood celebrities, especially many of the upcoming actors whom the superstar had lenmd a helping hand in the industry.
Salman Khan has encouraged many aspiring actors to make it big in Bollywood. Newcomers like Arjun Kapoor, Pulkit Samrat, Zarine Khan and Katrina Kaif are all praise for Salman and his generosity.

In a recent interview, Pulkit Samrat said that he has a special bond with the actor and that he is his brother-in-law since he has married his rakhi sister, Shweta Rohira. Salman Khan also attended Pulkit's wedding for her rakhi sister. Interestingly, Pulkit, who considers the star his mentor, has now started imitating Salman at public.
