Active cases of nCOV touches 46K mark in past 24 hrs, Daily death count 200 plus

New Delhi: India on Monday continued to show an upward trajectory in the COVID-19 infections as a whopping 46,951 new cases were recorded during the past 24 hours, pushing the country caseload to 1,16,46,081, while the death toll mounted to 1,59,967 with 212 more fatalities.

 
According to the Union Health Ministry, the active cases rose by 25,559 to stand at 3,34,646. It is now 2.66 per cent of the total caseload.The past 24 hours saw 21,180 people recovering from the deadly virus, taking the total recovery count to 1,11,51,468, which is 95.96 per cent of the case tally. The fatality rate stood at 1.38 per cent.
 
Meanwhile, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that a total of 23,44,45,774 lakh samples have been tested so far for coronavirus. Out of this, 8,80,655 were tested in the past one day.On the vaccination front, a total of 4,50,65,998 vaccine doses have been administered till 1900 hours Sunday.
 
Marathwada region reports 4041 fresh nCoV cases, 31 deaths
 
Aurangabad:Eight districts of Marathwada region of Maharashtra state recorded 4,041 fresh cases during the past 24 hours, and 31 more deaths, health authorities informed, here on Monday.
 
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI shows that out of the eight districts of the region, Aurangabad district in the region was one of the worst affected district where highest 1432 cases and 11 deaths were reported , followed by Nanded with 927 new cases and 9 deaths,Jalna registered 527 new cases and 4 deaths,Latur had 377 cases and 2 deaths,Parbhani registered 227 new cases and 2 deaths, ,Beed had 366 cases and single death, Osmanabad 117 cases and one death and Hingoli had 74 cases and single death.
 
Telangana sees 337 fresh COVID-19 cases, two fatalities until Sunday night
 
Hyderabad: Continuing the surge in COVID-19 cases, Telangana recorded 337 new Coronavirus cases until 2000 hours on Sunday pushing the daily count of the positive cases in the state to 3,03,455 till date.
 
Two people lost their lives due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours taking the overall fatalities to 1,671 thus far translating a case fatality rate of 0.55 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Monday.
