COVID: 107 samples of Delta, two of Kappa variant identified in UP

Lucknow: As many as 107 samples of Delta and two of Kappa variant of coronavirus were found during genome sequencing of at Kings George Medical University Lucknow, as per a report.
These samples were of April and May when the second wave of COVID-19 was at its peak.
Both the variants are not new to the state. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath during his meeting here on Friday said the facility of genome sequencing should be continuously increased in the state for in-depth study of coronavirus.
The CM said a "Special Varasat Campaign" is being conducted to register the inheritance of those land owners, who have died untimely due to the Covid-19 for their legal heirs.
This campaign will be extended to all the needy. The chief minister asked the officials to make appropriate arrangements for the livelihood of the COVID-19 widow. On the lines of Chief Minister's Child Service Scheme, the Women and Child Development Department should also submit a detailed action plan in respect of such women soon, the CM said. (UNI)
