COVID-19: India logs 1,096 new cases, 81 deaths in past 24 hrs

New Delhi: As many as 1,096 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the country, the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday.
According to the Ministry's bulletin, the total caseload rose to 4,30,28,131 while the death toll rose to 5,21,345 as 81 more people succumbed to the disease.
On the other hand, 1,447 more people recovered from the disease, taking the total tally to 4,24,93,773.
The recovery rate currently stands at 98.76 per cent. The active caseload stands at 13,013, the figures showed.
According to the bulletin, 79.07 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.
India has administered 184.66 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive. (UNI)
