COVID-19: India logs 10,853 new cases, 526 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India recorded 10,853 new Covid-19 cases during the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Sunday.
According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the latest addition has pushed the country's caseload to 3,43,55,536 while the death toll rose to 4,60,791 as 526 succumbed to the virus.
On a positive note, 12,432 more people have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,37,49,900.
The recovery rate stands at 98.24 per cent, highest since March last year.
The cumulative active caseload now stands at 1,44,845, less than one per cent of the total cases, the figures showed.
As per the bulletin, 61.48 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.
Meanwhile, India has administered 108.21 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive. (UNI)
