COVID-19: India logs 11,106 new cases, 459 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has recorded 11,106 new Covid-19 cases during the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Friday.
According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the latest addition has pushed the cumulative case tally to 3,44,89,623, while the death toll rose to 4,65,082, as 459 succumbed to the virus.
On the other hand, 12,789 more people have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours, taking the recoveries tally to 3,38,97,921. The recovery rate currently stands at 98.28 per cent, highest since March last year.
India's active caseload now stands at 1,26,620, less than one per cent of the total cases, the figures showed. As per the bulletin, 62.93 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.
Meanwhile, India has administered 115.23 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive. (UNI)
