COVID-19: India logs 2.09L fresh cases, 959 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has registered 2,09,918 new Covid-19 cases, taking the country's tally to 4,13,02,440, the Union Health Ministry data said on Monday.
A total 959 deaths were reported, taking the total fatality count to 4,95,050.
The daily positivity rate stood at 15.77 per cent The active caseload currently stands at 18,31,268 while 2,62,628 people have recovered, taking the total recoveries to 3,89,76,122.
The active case comprise 4.43 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has decreased to 94.37 per cent.
According to the bulletin issued, 72.89 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours ,a total of 13,31,198 tests have been conducted.
"India has administered 166.03 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive," Ministry data said.
Meanwhile, Delhi logged 3,674 cases with a positivity rate of 6.37 per cent, while 30 more deaths were reported, according to data shared by the city's health department on Sunday. (UNI)
