COVID-19: India records 15,102 new cases, 278 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has registered 15,102 Covid-19 cases, while the daily positivity rate stood at 1.28 per cent, as per the Union Health Ministry data on Wednesday.
A total 278 deaths were reported, taking the total fatality count to 5,12,622.
The Ministry data said the total active cases in the country stood at 1,64,522. The active cases comprise 0.38 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has decreased to 98.42 per cent.
The recovery tally rose to 4,21,89,887 as 31,377 people got freed from the disease.
According to the bulletin, 76.24 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 11,83438 tests have been conducted.
"India has administered 176.19 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive," Ministry data said. (UNI)
