COVID-19: India records 16,906 new infections, active caseload rises to 1,32,457

New Delhi: India recorded 16,906 new Covid-19 cases, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
According to the Health Ministry bulletin, the total caseload rose to 4,36,69,850 while the death toll rose to 5,25,519 as 45 more people succumbed to the disease.
On the other hand, 15,447 people recovered from the disease, taking the tally of recoveries to 4,30,11,874. The recovery rate currently stands at 98.49 per cent.
The active caseload currently stands at 1,32,457, the figures showed.
As per the bulletin, 86.77 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.
India has administered 199.12 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive. (UNI)
