COVID-19: India records 71,365 cases, 1,217 deaths in 24 hrs

New Delhi: India recorded 71,365 new cases of Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
As per the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the total caseload rose to 4,24,10,976, while the death toll rose to 5,05,279 as 1,217 succumbed to the virus.
On the other hand, 1,72,211 more people recovered from the disease during the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 4,10,12,869. The recovery rate stands at 96.70 per cent.
The active caseload now stands at 8,92,828, the figures showed.
As per the bulletin, 74.46 crore tests for Covid-19 have been conducted so far.
India has administered 170.87 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine thus far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive. (UNI)
