COVID fourth wave scare: India logs 2,706 new cases in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India registered 2,706 new Covid-19 cases during the past 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday.
According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the total caseload rose to 4,31,55,749 while the death toll increased to 5,24,611 as 25 more succumbed to the disease.
On positive front, 2,070 people recuperated from the disease, taking the tally to 4,26,13,440. The recovery rate stands at 98.74 per cent.
The active caseload stands at 17,698, the figures showed.
As per the bulletin, 85 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.
India has administered 193.31 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive. (UNI)
