India reports 62,714 new COVID-19 cases, 312 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India registered 62,714 fresh cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, pushing the country caseload to 1,19,71,624, as per the Union Health Ministry update on Sunday.
Besides, the country also reported 312 deaths, mounting the death toll to 1,61,552.
Now, the country have 4,86,310 active cases.
The past 24 hours saw 28,739 people recovering from the deadly virus, taking the total recovery count to 1,13,23,762, which is 94.59 per cent of the case tally. The fatality rate stood at 1.35 per cent.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 24,09,50,842 samples have been tested so far for coronavirus. Out of this, 11,81,289 were tested in the past one day.
Meanwhile, total 5,94,92,824 vaccine doses have been administered, with 13,83,051 vaccinated in the last 24 hours. (UNI)
