India reports 9887 new nCoV cases, tally shoots to 2,36,657
New Delhi:The caseload of novel coronavirus on Saturday soared to 2,36,657 as the country recorded another huge spike of 9887 fresh infections in the past 24 hours.
According to the Health Ministry update, 294 more people have lost their battle to the viral disease since Friday, taking the death toll across the nation to 6,642 so far.
With this sharp surge in cases yet again, India jumped to sixth spot in the list of top ten countries that have maximum number of infections.
With the situation intensifying at a faster rate since the beginning of Unlock 1.0, active cases across the length and breadth of the nation have now stepped up to 1,15,942.
On a positive note, recoveries are also increasing and so far the the contagion survivor count has improved to 114073, after 4611 patients defeated the virus since past one day.
