Maharashtra reports 2,279 new Covid cases, 6 related deaths in 24 hrs

Aurangabad/Mumbai: Maharashtra reported 2,279 fresh Covid-19 cases and 6 related deaths, according to health bulletin on Wednesday.
With the addition of these new cases, the state’s cumulative case tally has surged to 80,22,781 and the death toll rose to 1,48,032.
Meanwhile, 2,279 Covid patients were cured and discharged during the day across the state, taking overall count of recoveries to 78,59,960.
The state's recovery rate currently stands at 97.97 per cent and fatality rate 1.84 per cent.
Presently, 14,789 active Covid patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals across the state, the bulletin added.
Meanwhile, Marathwada region of the state reported 112 new Covid cases including 41 cases in Aurangabad district, followed by 31 cases in Jalna, 20 cases in Osmanabad district, 10 cases in Nanded district, 9 cases in Beed and one case in Hingoli district, the bulletin further added. (UNI)
