Nationwide vaccination drive kicks off, Centre & states encourages people to get jabbed

New Delhi: The nationwide vaccination drive kicked off in the country on Monday. Many states are encouraging citizens to get themselves jabbed as soon as possible. Amid the alert issued by the ministry of home affairs, the vaccination drive is aimed to deter the possible third wave that is expected to hit the country near October.
While, While Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said the country's vaccination drive will get a boost by the Centre's free jabs for all policy.
 
Moreover, with the vaccination drive getting a boost, aim of inoculating the entire country will be achieved early.
 
Mr Shah made these remarks after inaugurating three flyovers in Ahmedabad and reviewing vaccination drive in his constituency Gandhinagar.
 
The Home Minister, who is on a two-day visit to Gujarat, said the Centre has planned to speed up the vaccination drive in July and August.
 
He also kicked off on spot registration for the people reaching vaccination centers for getting themselves inoculated.
 
'Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today a new important stage has emerged to fight coronavirus, referring to vaccination drive' Mr Shah asserted.
 
The Minister's visit to Gujarat assumes significance as the state is slated to go to Assembly polls in 2022.
 
COVID-19: Mega inoculation drive underway in MP
 
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched a massive novel coronavirus immunisation campaign on Monday in Datia District headquarters and appealed to the populace to undergo compulsory vaccination.
 
“The vaccine is a protective shield! Get it yourself and inspire others to do likewise. Arrangements made by Premier Narendra Modi vis-à-vis free injections will not only save our state but also the rest of the nation from the ‘millennium scourge’,” the senior politician was officially quoted as saying.
 
The veteran leader offered worship at the Ma Pitambara temple.He later expressed satisfaction over the fact that in excess of 3.25 lakh people were given the shots within three hours.

Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP member of Rajya Sabha Sushil Kumar Modi today said that mega vaccination drive with target of vaccinating 6 crores people
 
in next six months in the state and debarring those from contesting panchayat elections , who did not take vaccine shots, was a bold decision to save lives of the people.
 
Mr Modi tweeted it was heartening to note that NDA government in Bihar had taken a decision to constitute Special Task Force (STF) for launching mega vaccination drive with target of vaccinating 6 crore people in next 6 months in the state. It was all the more important to note that those not taking vaccines shot would be debarred from contacting Panchayat elections, he added.
 
Tripura targets to vaccinate half of 18+ age group in two days
 
As part of the nationwide special vaccination drive for 18+ age group, a two-day special drive has begun across 1,342 centres across Tripura today targeting to cover at least 50 percent of the vaccine seekers with the population of 6.12 lakh.
 
Tripura has already achieved a milestone by administering the first dose vaccine to over 14 lakh population and double dose to 5.5 lakh people in last six months, which estimated the counts of more than 55 per cent of the eligible population.
 
According to report, Tripura is holding the top position in the country in terms of vaccination of 45+ age groups and the state government has set a target to achieve cent percent vaccination as soon as possible.I(UNI)
