New Delhi: "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" (ZNMD) that swept audiences off their feet over a decade back and still continues to break generation barriers with its buddy-road-comedy that both siblings Zoya and before her Farhan Akhtar debuted with as directors, has special place in Spain as well.
Backed by Excel Entertainment, directed by Zoya Akhtar and written by Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar, ZNMD received immense love and appreciation from all quarters and generations, especially with urban audiences since 2011.
The big-ticket entertainer which has completed 11th anniversary on Friday shed light on modern-day relationships, both romantic and familial and had huge appeal with urban audiences, who related to the characters and plots.
Starred Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin, the film was mostly shot in Spain. The film then went on to be included as a case study for a course in marketing management in Spain.
“The marketing course shows Spain as a product and attributes how the film has increased the country's tourism by 65 per cent. According to the case study: The film played the role of a brochure of Spain which gave a boost to tourism in Spain post the release. ZNMD as seen by the Spanish authorities is a typical example of how effective countries brand positioning should be done within films, a thing which gave Spain a lot of business, no doubt,” a statement said.
With the film, Zoya and Reema are one of the strongest voices of Pop Culture, who come up with stories appealing to urban audiences. The duo has given us content that is not only relatable but also holds a true mirror to the urban society. Their vivacious venture, ‘Made in Heaven’ intends to tear a hole in the utter romanticisation of this custom.
The duo have brought unique stories which are shot with international standard of storytelling, creating a massive appeal to the urban audiences.
ZNMD has not only added a completely new chapter to Bollywood’s history but has also made it one of best and most memorable ones. They bring a high dose of flavour and essence of the Indian urban culture.
Zoya and Reema along with Excel Entertainment has an exciting slate ahead including "Made in Heaven 2", "Jee Le Zara", "Kho Gaye Hum Kahan", and "Dahaad" amongst others. (UNI)
