We all have been devoting ourselves to Shakti, (the supreme power) from ages. Whether it is divine or physical. We respect and bestowed ourselves in. If a power is immortal and continuously in public welfare, who will not celebrate her birthday.
Every year virtuous lady mother, Narmada's birthday is celebrated on Magh Shukla Saptami. This year it is being celebrated on 24th Jan. There are 999 rivers in the world but mother Narmada is a symbol of peace. Narmada originates from Amarkantak and conjoined in Ratnasagar.
Once upon a time all Lords along with Lord Brahama and Vishnu approached Lord Shiva who was conformed at Amarkantak, mekel parvat. He was sitting calmly after assassinating the demon Andhakasur. After performing the different kinds of offerings and prayers, Lord Shiva opened his eyes and welcomed all Lords.
All Lords said :- “O Lord SHIVA. We did unpardonable sin by killing many monsters. How we all will get rid of this? Then a bizarre crystal fell down on earth and transformed into a beautiful girl.” That girl's name was Narmada. Later the river was blessed with many powers.(WD)
