Lord Rama visited THESE places during 14-year-long exile
Lord Rama visited nearly 200 places during his 14 years in exile. Here’re names of some of the important places among them:
Shringverpur
Lord Rama, Mata Sita, and Laxmana crossed the holy river Ganga at Shringverpur, situated at a distance of approx. 40 Kilometers from Prayagraj.
Chitrakoot
This was the place where Bharat came to inform Lord Rama about the demise of King Dhashrath and requested him to come back to Ayodhya.
Panchvati
This was the place where Laxmana chopped off Suparnakha’s nose and Ravana abducted Mata Sita from here.
Sarvateerth
This is the place where injured Jatayu was found by Lord Rama and he informed him about Mata Sita being kidnapped by Ravana and taken to Lanka.
Shabari's ashram
Lord Rama and Laxmana went to Shabari's ashram, which is now situated in Kerala. Shabari was a tribal lady and an ardent devotee of Lord Rama.
Rishimukh parvat
This is the place where Hanuman first met Lord Rama and Laxmana who where on the search for Mata Sita abducted by Ravana.
Rameshwaram
This is the place where Lord Rama worshipped Lord Shiva before leaving for Lanka. Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga was created by Lord Rama.
Dhanushkodi
This is the place where Lord Rama had ordered Hanuman to build a bridge (Ram Setu) to reach Sri Lanka to retrieve Mata Sita.
