Urdu recitation of Mahabharata performed at Tihar Jail

New Delhi: A recitation of the great epic Mahabharata was performed in Urdu here at Tihar jail on Tuesday.'Dastan e Karan' was performed by Mehmood Farooqui, written by him during his incarceration in the Tihar prisons.Border Security Force Director General KK Sharma was also present during the event as the chief guest, while DG prisons Ajay Kashyap presided over the function.

BSF DG Mr Sharma during his address at the event said that the inmates in the prison were given a good atmosphere wherein they were trained and incorporated with skills to further lead a life with dignity upon their release.

Meanwhile, DG prisons Mr Kashyap said that the prison administration did not leave any stone unturned to put efforts in providing a suitable atmosphere for their inmates so that they were not at all frightened during their imprisonment. Additional Sessions judge of the Tis Hazari Court Rakesh Kumar and ex DG Tihar Prisons Mr Ajay Agarwal were also present on the occasion.(UNI)
