Washington: US President Donald Trump, facing multiple allegations of sexual harassment and assault, on Tuesday said he has been the target of “false accusations and fabricated stories of women" he doesn't know or never met.
After three women, who had earlier accused him of sexual harassment, shared their stories on NBC show ``Megyn Kelly Today'', Trump took to Twitter and said he had been a target of “false accusations and fabricated stories of women who I don’t know and/or have never met” and blamed the Democrats for that."Despite thousands of hours wasted and many millions of dollars spent, the Democrats have been unable to show any collusion with Russia - so now they are moving on to the false accusations and fabricated stories of women who I don’t know and/or have never met. FAKE NEWS," Trump twitted.
Three women – Samantha Holvey, Rachel Crooks and Jessica Leeds – who first came forward with accusations against Trump during the 2016 presidential election demanded on Monday that Congress open an investigation. They hoped politicians from across the political divide will now take action in the wake of public support for the #MeToo movement.
At least 15 women have accused US President Donald Trump of sexual assault, harassment and lewd behavior. And 13 of them said they were attacked directly by Trump while two others said they witnessed behavior that made them uncomfortable, media reports said. White House press secretary Sarah Sanders on Monday said the allegations took place "long before he was elected president" and that Trump has "addressed these accusations directly and denied all of these allegations."Sanders also claimed that "eyewitnesses" have backed up Trump's denials.(UNI)
