Who is Ayesha Zehri? Balochistan’s 1st woman deputy commissioner

Quetta: The Balochistan government has appointed a woman officer to serve as deputy commissioner of Nasirabad district. It is the first time in the administrative history of Balochistan that a woman officer has been appointed to the post.
She replaced outgoing deputy commissioner Mohammad Hussain on Tuesday, Dawn reported.
Ayesha Zehri, who has been working in the irrigation department, assumed her new responsibilities, after the Services and General Administration notification on her appointment.
Who is Ayesha Zehri?
Ayesha Zehri is an electrical engineer and during her stint as assistant commissioner of Chagai, she conducted many raids against criminals and drug smugglers in district and arrested a number of suspects after exchange of heavy fire.
Recently, the Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised her for the effective role she had played for the rehabilitation of flood victims and working tirelessly to restore the highway in eight hours in Mach Bolan.

Zehri’s name also came into the limelight after she conducted a raid and recovered a young boy, Abdul Hadi who was abducted from Chagai district, and Rs 40 million ransom money was demanded by the kidnappers.
She also imposed a fine on the group of Qatari Royals who were illegally hunting in the Chagi district.
